Rainbow RibbonThis LGBT History Month, we’re asking you to wear a Rainbow Ribbon to help us highlight that “LGBT people experience domestic violence too…”

With numbers as high as 1 in 4 lesbian, gay, or bisexual people, and up to 1 in 3 trans people likely to experience domestic violence, it’s important that you help us to raise awareness of LGBT Domestic Violence.

You can do this by promoting the Rainbow Ribbon Campaign; wear it, show it, add it to your Facebook Profile, Tweets, or your website. You can add a Twibbon to your Twitter account right now!

Take a look at our press release for the full story.

Rice & Peas

While we’re gearing up for the Valentines Launch of our new trans opening hours (14 Feb at Bar Wotever), we thought we’d treat you to a clip of the award-winning Dean Atta performing his gay domestic violence poem, Rice and Peas. Dean will be performing this poem, live, at the launch:

This week at Broken Rainbow HQ, Max Zachs, from Channel 4’s My Transsexual Summer, dropped by to help with the launch of our new helpline for trans people. It was great fun meeting Max, who is really passionate about helping lesbian, gay, bi and trans people affected by domestic violence. We got to tell him all about Broken Rainbow’s services, while he shared some gossip on what it’s like to be a new TV star.

While he was here, Max recorded a short video message, encouraging trans people to call during our new helpline hours. We’ll be releasing the video soon. But for now, he’s a photo of Max with Charlie, our helpline manager.
